This is an animated holiday greeting card that allowed friends of Bluerush to vote on which charity to donate to.
How it works
- A holiday greeting email will take you to this site
- You can then vote on a charity for that Bluerush will make donation to while enjoying the animated card
Features & Components
- Greensock animation library used with hand drawn svg images (skating characters, falling snowflakes).
- Works on all screen widths from desktop to mobile.
- Dual language - English and French texts matches in with design and animations.
- Analytics of page visits, and voting of charity.
Challenges & Other thoughts:
This was a microsite so developing it wasn’t too difficult, but few highlights were:
- Limited time to build before Christmas. After getting the design, there was about a week to develop it.
- Learning Greensock animation. Greensock is an execllent javascript animation library. We just had to make the animation smooth and randomized.
- The design was for English only. Making French text fit in fluidly along with the animations took little more time than expected.
